Yesterday was BLT, today BLAT.
Hooked up with the chefs and Mrs. tonight, one of the chef’s birthday.
Sedona Tortilla (Vine-ripened tomatoes, tomatillos and corn with mild green chilies, Southwestern spices and crispy tortillas) on the right, Dakota Smashed Pea and Barley (A hearty split pea soup with barley, carrots, onions, savory herbs and scallions) on the right.
Both soups were good, but, the Sedona soup could have used a little bit of chorizo, while the Dakota soup could have used some bacon (or fried SPAM). 🙂
Oven-roasted turkey or grilled chicken breast with fresh avocado and Nueske’s applewood smoked bacon (that’s the menu description). Asked the server if I could opt-out of the turkey or chicken portion and double up on the bacon. “Of course” he says. Don’t ask … can’t get. They could always say no.
Bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato … my current favorite sandwich (with or without avocado, as long as there’s BACON!). When I was young, BLTs were not my favorite (too little bacon), but now, more food places are putting more bacon in their sandwiches … happy Mouse. 🙂
My minor “complaint” tonight, a little too much mayo.
Sans whipped cream, because, you know, gas … and worse. 😦
The Cat’s food.
Mixed greens, strawberries, watermelon, and pistachios. The Cat said so-so.
Salmon was a little (or a lot) overcooked. Not bad taste though.
This, The Cat liked.
Almost forgot …
Happy B-Day Chef.
So where were we? CPK, Ala Moana.
Enjoy. Eat well.
The Mouse
The choices sound delicious and hope all had a wonderful time, chefs and Mrs.
Yup. No complaints from them. Which is highly unusual, especially when it comes to food, they’re very Morris (as in the cat). 🙂
