Sometimes I think our refridge is a distant relative of the TARDIS. Can’t travel through time, but, sometimes things “just appear”. In reality, The Cat puts stuff in the refridge and forgets to tell me, and some of the stuff she puts in I have no idea how to use/eat it. I like my “reality” better. 🙂

Anyway, one day this “appeared” in the refridge.

Instructions said the dumplings could be boiled, steamed, pan-fried, or microwaved (eww!). The first time, threw some into The Cat’s pasta soup bowl.

One of the dumpling filling ingredient is chives, doesn’t agree with The Cat, which means we either throw it out (the “rice” is “mochi” rice flour, not one of my favorite), return it to where it came from (probably not an option), or The Mouse has to finish the bag (we hate to waste food). Sigh, it appears my alias “Mickey” (the old Life cereal commercials) is assigned to finishing the dumplings.

So tonight, decided to pan-fry several for dinner (boiling or steaming would be too “sticky” for me, and we don’t have a microwave).

Fried onions and “potsticker” rice dumplings, the crusty bottom gives the dumplings just enough variety of texture to make them interesting for me. And since the filling had chives, I had to add onions (adding gas to fire? Hee hee).

Took a Tums after. 🙂

Enjoy. Eat well.
