Not to freaky, maybe just a little weird (trust me it could’ve been weirder).
Planned on a salad for lunch today (trying to cut down on carbs for a while). Lunch spots nearby either are not oriented towards salads (more protein and starch kinda places), or way too expensive (in my opinion) for what’s presented.
Decided on Chinese chicken salad from the nearby Chinese greasy spoon. While not my favorite of salad choices (just romaine lettuce), quantity and price is “fair”.
Have to mention the salad dressing.
Have to mention the salad dressing. The picture does not do it justice. The color is almost neon. Not sure this color happens in nature.
To add a little variety to the salad, I brought along some ingredients from home.
Not all went into the salad, just the dried cranberries and prunes. I’ve recently become infatuated with adding dried fruit to savory salads, guess its that salty-sweet combo.
🙂
Dinner had the potential to become “freaky”-ish, but didn’t. Had to make a Costco run for vitamins. Dinner at Max’s of Manila close by. Considered ordering pork blood stew, sizzling pork cheeks, or crispy pork hock, but in the end, stayed conservative.
Colorful no?
Vegetables (with a little bit of pork), a good thing, according to my doctor’s request. Although the shrimp paste might throw him in a tizzy.
Cat  ended dinner with a scoop of ice cream.
Could be considered by the uninitiated as being a little freaky. Hee hee.
Enjoy. Eat well.
