Dunno about you but every year, the days between Christmas and New Year’s are kind of a let down. All the hoopla building up to Christmas is over, and thoughts of what to make/bring to New Year’s potluck (usually at a friend’s house). Same again this year, not much happening.
Even the church kitchen seemed to be less inspired than usual.
Although the slaw was pretty good, the rest was okay.
Lunch was Portuguese Bean Soup from the clearance section of Diamond Head Market and Grill.
Tastes a lot better than it looks, trust me.
Dinner (for The Cat) was soup made from leftover steamed kabocha squash and the elements from the braised pork belly (bamboo shoot, mushroom, as well as some pork belly).
Planning on more braised pork belly for the New Year’s potluck (subject to change without notice), depending on what I find at the market in the next coming days. Wish me luck. 🙂
Enjoy. Eat well.
