Chinese friends and relatives. The Cat made reservations.
For some reason, reminded me of a movie (forgot the name) where the mother burns Christmas dinner and the family ends up in a Chinese restaurant with a roast duck with the head still attached (was it “A Christmas Story”?).
Buffet only.
Chinese char siu, stir-fried cabbage, potsticker, char siu bao bun, braised turnip, lion head, chicken and pomelo salad, steamed pork hash.
Most impressed with the chicken salad.
Something different, kinda fusion-y. I think I was the only one that liked it.
Can you tell, I really liked the salad.
Overall, I thought the food was pretty good, The Cat, not so much. There were a few glitches. Our reservation was at 2:00 pm. The restaurant was running out of some of the dishes. The restaurant also closed the line early. Missed dessert (although, from what we could see, dessert wasn’t much anyway, almond float and mango pudding). Still …
But we got to see friends and families.
On to the new year.
Enjoy. Eat well.
