Can you see?
(A sellfie!) Hee hee!
Lunch at Chez Kenzo today.
Thin slices of boiled pork on a bed of mixed greens tossed with a parsley vinaigrette.
Restaurant has a house-made yuzu pepper paste that usually accompanies its chicken yuzu bao bun sliders. I will ask to get a small portion with any of my orders, chicken yuzu bao buns or not.
The pepper used is the Szechuan pepper or sanshō, although not especially spicy, it’s known to numb the tongue and mouth
This time, server gave me an extra portion.
Not wanting to waste, I used all of it. My tongue was numb for a while. I think the numbness may have creeped to my brain, was a little fuzzy in the afternoon (what else is new). 🙂
Enjoy. Eat well.
