Had an errand near Chinatown last week. Since I was in the area (wink wink), checked out a noodle shop I’ve been wanting to try for a while.
(Picture from their website) 100 North Beretania Street, Suites 171 & 172, Honolulu, Hawai’i. Supposedly, their noodles are made in-house.
Again, picture from their website. I was going to ask if I could see them make the noodles but I was shy that day. Hee hee.
One of the few Chinese noodle shops that offer “tossed” noodle option (noodles and broth separate for dipping, think Japanese tsukemen). Not really a fan of assembling my noodles and soup.
But, they do offer a variety of soup noodles that you can mix the ingredients (won ton and roast duck for example). Went with won ton and beef tendons.
A match made in heaven (if you ask me).
The noodles are the thin chewy type (which I prefer). Did not check if it was one strand of noodle. Hee hee.
A definite return spot. Problem is they close at 6:00 in the evening. Kind of too early for dinner. Have to catch The Cat on a good day for lunch or early din din. 🙂
Also picked up some dry noodles for The Cat (also from Chinatown).
I think it’s similar to the noodles served at the Hong Kong Noodle House.
Made The Cat some chicken noodle soup (Mouse-style).
Home-made chicken stock, carrots, dried green vegetable, goji berries. Salt, Shao Xing wine, and toasted sesame oil to taste. The Cat didn’t complain.
Enjoy. Eat well.
