Sort of. Could be plates. Semantics. Last Saturday, my favorite Saturday lunch place was closed due to some technical difficulty. 😦
For me, once my mind is on food (when is it not on food?), it’s kind of hard to switch gears. Roamed around a bit (aimlessly I might add), looking for an acceptable substitute (kind of hard to find reasonable (read cheap) eats around the Ala Moana area).
Then I remembered one of the food stalls in the Shirokiya food court, the small bowl of sukiyaki beef on rice, with miso soup, less than a fiver.
To be honest, for me, this place is more about the condiments than the actual food.
My bowl, dressed.
🙂
Another day, catching up on “stuff” which were put on hold while I was working. Made a detour to the Hunan restaurant for this.
Not quite as cheap as the sukiyaki beef bowl, but still reasonable. Includes pickled cabbage and Chinese parsley as “vegetables”.
No picture of “clean” plate, trust me, the plate was “spotless”. 🙂
Enjoy. Eat well.
