Killer Filler

In my previous post, I declared my preference in hamburger patties having some filler in them as compared with 100 percent beef patties.

So, here’s my version.

The basic is one egg (to one pound of ground beef) and a little bit of bread crumbs (not too much, I am making a distinction between meat loaf, and hamburger patties). I use, when I can, panko bread crumbs.

For one pound of beef, about a quarter cup (see told you not too much).

For this go ’round, I included a little bit of chopped bacon.

Throw everything together and mix.

From the one pound of hamburger, I made four patties (so you could say, quarter pounders). Flat sandwich rounds (because it’s all about the patties), shiso leaves, and sun-dried tomatoes (in olive oil).

There was a happy Mouse tonight. 🙂

A few readers commented that they prefer the 100 percent beef patties. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I definitely respect that. But in my opinion, burger patties with a little bit of filler is my way! Yay!
