Yesterday, I was in the area of Keeaumoku Super Market (835 Keeaumoku Street, Honolulu, Hawaii), it’s a Korean oriented market. Stopped in to pick up some vegetables.
In the market, there’s a bakery, KM Bakery, the type of Oriental bakery that makes European style baked goods. Does that make sense?
Anyway, on the counter was a basket of day old baked goods. The man at the counter was super friendly and said the day old stuff was still good. Picked up a package of walnut baguettes for 30 percent off regular price.
The texture was more Asian than French (crust not crusty, soft). Sliced it up, and threw them in the toaster to toast. While the crust still wasn’t like the crusty French baguettes we’re used to, the taste was pretty good. The Cat liked it too (maybe because of the walnuts).
Worth a definite return trip, especially if there is day old stuff remaining.
Enjoy. Eat well.

Looks good, even if it’s not French texture 🙂
Uh…I need to try that. That sounds good with a nice hot bowl of soup. Maybe if I’m in the area. I don’t like parking in their lot. Usually, I park in Walmart (shhhh! don’t say anything) and walk over.
