By the Way

We dodged a tsunami bullet last night.

To all those dealing with Hurricane Sandy, stay safe.

Sake and Chocolate?

You betcha.

As previously mentioned, we (me, The Cat, and Chef P) participated in a sake and chocolate tasting at The Sake Shop last night. The Sake Shop owners, Malcolm and Nadine were gracious in hosting. Chef prepared his apple banana ganache, matcha green tea, and peaberry Kona coffee ganache candies.

The Sake Shop presented five sake  they thought would match the chocolates: Yuki no Bosha Akita Komachi Daiginjo, Kamoizumi Junmai Daiginjo, Chiyomusubi Tokubetsu Junmai, Asabiraki Ume-Kanon (Umeshu), and Dewazakura Tobiroku (sparkling). Sorry, can’t tell you anything more about the sake, I have no clue.

Chef sold out of the boxes that he brought for sale and sold a couple of gift cards. He got to talk to some of his old fans and made new ones. Over all a pretty successful night. He is even thinking about making a sake truffle or a yuzu infused sake ganache for sale at the The Shop for Christmas.

The Cat bought a bottle of the Asabiraki Ume-Kanon (Umeshu), plum infused sake.

Asabiraki Ume-Kanon (Umeshu)

Her own pre-Halloween treat. 🙂

Thanks Malcolm and Nadine, invite us back, anytime. Hee hee.

Enjoy. Eat well.
