An Observation

One of my cousins made a statement the other day. His theory is that Asian cooking generally tends to be bolder than non-Asian cooking. When he said it, I didn’t think too hard about it.

This weekend, I ordered steamed gau gee with spicy sauce (I won’t post a picture of the gau gee,  it’s kind of bland looking. Plus I posted I picture of it before.). As I was looking at the sauce (ginger, green onions, chili pepper, soy sauce, and toasted sesame oil), I realized Chef doesn’t stock any of these ingredients in the kitchen.

Once in awhile, he will stock green  onions (and only because he couldn’t get chives), but he grumbles about it.

So maybe my cousin’s theory has some legs to it. Just an observation.
