I forgot where I heard about the fried SPAM musubi from Da Kitchen Cafe (925 Isenbergn Street, Honolulu, Hawaii) but I was curious. So today, while waiting for an appointment, I stopped in and checked it out.
Here’s another angle.
Spam musubi wrapped in nori (Japanese seaweed used in making sushi), panko (Japanese bread crumbs) battered, deep-fried, with teriyaki sauce. This was huge. One of these is enough for a light meal. This was good, but for a couple of minor issues, the socks stayed on.
Looking around on other tables, the portions here are pretty substantial. I wonder if I could convince The Cat to try the place for dinner. Probably not, not enough vegetables, very local style plates. Maybe next time my cousin P is in town, we’ll give it a go. Cousin B and The Cat can do a girls night out at BLT Steak or something. Heh heh.:)
Enjoy. Eat well.
