But you can deep-fry them crispy.
A farmers market find tonight. A little harder than pork rinds (because of the cartilage) but still tasty. Great with beer. 🙂
One of my friends (who’s a little squeamish) swore his strip still had ear wax in it (it didn’t) (such a drama queen). Sigh. 🙂
More finds next post (less drama).
Enjoy. Eat well.
The Mouse
I’m all for anything which goes well with beer! Not sure if I would like pig’s ears, but I am sure I would want to try them.
Thanks for dropping in. Parts of the pig, it’s all good. Almost like cracklings. Eat well.
Pig’s ears are tasty indeed! In the Philippines, we have a dish called sisig which makes use of chopped pig’s ears and cheeks, seasoned with vinegar and onions, and served on a sizzling plate. It doesn’t sound delicious but it’s really good. very greasy but very good with beer too 🙂
I got to try sisig once. I kind of like it, The Cat, not so much (too chewy for her). Beer! heh heh. Thanks for visiting. Eat well.
Wow. I’m open to trying new things, but that just looks really gross to me! lol!
We were passing ’em around without telling people what they were. Heh heh heh. They are tasty though (especially with beer). Thanks for visiting. Eat well.
omg, you’re braver than I am…though this looks more like calamari than pig’s ears! 🙂
If you don’t think about it, it’s all good. I’ll try almost anything once (key word “almost). Thanks for commenting. Eat well.
I think I’ll stick with the ‘darma queen’…lol Pork rinds yes… EARS? No thank you… *hugs* khrys…
I’ll try almost anything once. Thanks for stopping by. Eat well.
I had them for the first time at Animal, in LA. Delicious!
Who would have thought. They are good. Thanks for dropping by. Eat well.
Yummy. Jealous.
Thank you. I enjoy your blog. Eat well.
My husband bought some pig ears with plans on doing some experimental cooking…I’ll mention the deep-fried option from your post…:)
Crunch crunch. Hee hee. Lucky you. Thanks for stopping by. Eat well.
I agree these are great with beer! I had these at a pub recently and LOVED them!
We are using everything the pig can provide. Yay! Not to mention they taste good. Thanks for visiting. Eat well.
I know someone who would love these!
Heh heh. They were good! Thanks for visiting. Eat well.
Yum!!! These look so amazingly tasty and crunchy as you promised! Delicious 🙂 wish I had a bowl, right now!
And a glass of beer! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by. Eat well.
What a grand post Mouse thank you. I have a habit of using every part of a pig when killed. The dogs usually have the ears but next slaughter time this I will try 🙂
Thanks for commenting. My auntie was also a proponent of using nose to tail. She taught me well. Eat well.
