Some of my vegetable (and technically fruit) dishes from the past week.
The sea moss was quickly blanched and that dunked in an ice bath before I added it to the tomatoes.
The Cat said this is a method of Chinese cooking. A hot pan, a little more oil (about a teaspoon more) than normally necessary, and cooking the vegetable very quickly. The oil and the moisture from the vegetables merge to form the “sauce”. The Cat gave this one four paws and a tail. 🙂
A drizzle of roasted sesame oil and lightly salted with Kauai sea salt.
Just cleaning out the refrig and pantry. Sautéed zucchini, peeled tomatoes, sliced avocado, and sea moss. Dressed with macadamia oil infused with Italian herbs, and Kauai sea salt. It looks messy (I need to work on my plating) but tasted good. Plus pretty healthy I’m sure.
Enjoy.

Looks amazing! Can you find sea moss at most Asian grocers?
Maybe from a fishmonger?
Ok, I’ll give that a try.
Good luck, good eating!
With asparagus…….. when the steamed rice is almost done, we put the asparagus on top. The way we eat is very Asian too…. I mean, Filipino…. we eat it with chopped tomatoes, salted egg or if salted egg’s not available, we use , uhm, bagoong ( sauteed shrimp paste that stinks to high heavens, it’s an acquired taste, lol ) . It’s like a salad.
Cheers !
Thanks for stopping by. I’m familiar with bagoong. We have something similar harm ha (Cantonese spelling). When used, vultures swoop by for a look see (I’m kidding). 🙂
The Cat has banned all fermented shrimp and fish sauces from the house. Sigh. have to eat it outside when she’s not around. Hee hee.
Mahalo plenty again.
I haven’t had sea moss before but we’re doing a series now on sea veggies so while I’m in the groove I’ll see if I can find some. Pretty food!
Thank you, yours are pretty too.
Yum! Have you ever had zucchini noodles?
Hi, Thanks for dropping by. Nope haven’t tried zucchini noodles yet.
They are a good substitute for regular grain products. I’ve tried them with regular pasta sauce, and they’re delicious. 🙂
I was smart and ate before I came to visit your blog! Looks fabulous!
Looks and sounds delicious!
