My cousins P&B took my aunt M, The Cat, and myself out to dinner on Monday night at Le Bistro (5730 Kalanianaole Highway, Honolulu, Hawaii).


One of their favorite spots, I think. I’ll let the food speak for themselves.

French Onion Soup

P’s soup (not pea soup). Said it wasn’t too salty (not like some other places). Looked to me more like  molten cheese than soup (that’s a good thing).

Escargot with Warm Bread

B, aunt M, and The Cat shared two orders of escargot. The Cat used a lot of the bread to sop up the sauce. She thought these were bigger than the escargot at Padovani’s Grill (and to The Cat, size matters). 😉

Ahi Tartare

My appetizer. Layer of ahi tartare, avocado, and feta cheese. Not too sure what the green sauce was, wait, let me show you.

For the entrée B, aunt M, and The Cat all ordered black cod (aka butterfish to us locals).


Can’t tell you any description, this was a special and we couldn’t quite hear the server, it was good though.

Roasted Sea Bass

P’s entrée selection. Topped with a variety of mushrooms.

Grilled Chicken with Mushrooms

My selection. The chicken was grilled perfectly, moist and tender on the inside, slightly “koge” on the outside. Sautéed mushrooms adding nice flavor and texture.

Complimentary Crème Brûlée

My favorite were chocolate cake and the crème brûlée. Both were not too sweet and very smooth. I ended the night with a pot of mint tea (cute presentation, the tea pot sits over the teacup). I good way to take the socks off. 🙂
