The Passing Of An Era

I’ve posted about this place previously.

I wasn’t planning to post about them again. However, the owner just sold the restaurant (effective December 1st). I didn’t mind their buffet lunches, occasionally (the menu was always the same, couldn’t go too often). But what they did offer was decent.

In the upper left hand corner of the plate is stewed okra, onions, bell peppers, and tomato sauce. It was love at first taste. Coming from a Chinese background, I wasn’t exposed to stewed vegetables (except for pasta sauce). The vegetable stew was a revelation. From there I went to¬†ratatouille (both the dish and the movie). Awesome.

As always, lunch ended with a serving of rice pudding.

Fare thee well Pyramids, it was nice knowing you.
