Found some pretty decent buys at the grocery store this week. At first, I was looking for some belly pork, but the price was a little steep. Saw chicken gizzards at a good price. Gizzards it is then.
Simmered them for a couple of hours and sliced them into strips.
For the first dish, I parboiled a turnip and a potato, cut them into chunky strips, stir-fried with some of the gizzards and chopped celery. The seasoning was light and dark soy sauce, sugar, and Shao Xingwine. The Cat approved.
The second dish was stir-fried cabbage and gizzards, seasoned with curry powder, salt, and sugar.
At the same grocery store, I found these.
I used to go somewhere else for marrow bones but these are so much better. Uniformly cut and each one has marrow. The grocery store is also closer to our house. I found a new source. Hopefully the grocery store stays consistent.
The Cat approved.
Lastly, found a deal on radishes. I sautéed them in olive oil and butter. Yum.
I even used the radish tops. Added them to the broth I simmered the gizzards in. Talk about no waste. 😉
The Cat gave this one four paws.
Enjoy.
