A visitor to this blog suggested sliced onions with the canned sardines in tomato sauce with chili (see 19 February 2011 post). Good idea. I caramelized a sweet onion with salt, sugar, and Japanese rice vinegar; and added the sardines, with sauce, over the onions at the end.
Brown rice, sardines and onions, and turkey neck broth, all the major food groups. 😉
I think the sauce would be excellent with natto, hmm, more research and development is warranted.
