The Cat and I took some very distinguished guests to lunch the other day here.
The front entrance is kind of foreboding (heavy steel door in an alleyway), thought we had to know a password or something. The Cat had me take a picture of the rear entrance instead.
If you ignore the “slippery when wet” signs, you could almost imagine a destination far far away.
The restaurant is known for their lunch buffets, so that’s what we all chose.
Most of the food on the line are “composed salads (a good thing). Selections also include chicken, seared fish, and beef.
The buffet used to include a selection of dim sum. In order to lower the price, the dim sum was changed to an ala carte item. The Cat ordered the dim sum for the table.
I really liked the mushrooms, eggplant, chicken, and fish.
The Cat ordered two ginger crème brûlée for the table.
In my opinion, this was one of the best crème brûlée I’ve had, ever. Not too sweet, not too heavy, just right. The Chinese pretzel made me think of a science fiction program (sorry, it just did).
To wash everything down, I ordered cardamom/cinnamon herb tea.
I love it when restaurants serve beverages in a French press. Makes me want to stick my pinkie out.
Have to find an excuse to eat here more often.
Hope our guests enjoyed themselves. We did. Thanks for coming.
Enjoy.
